✧ We raided with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ against Hawazin. While we were sitting taking our midday rest, a man on a red camel drew out a leather strap from the camel’s saddle and tied his camel with it. Then he came and sat with us to eat lunch. He looked at the faces of the people, and their backs were thin and most of them were on foot. When he looked at the faces of the people, he went out running until he came to his camel and sat on it, urging it on, and he was a scout for the disbelievers. A man from us of Aslam followed him on a grayish-brown she-camel. Iyas said: My father said: I followed him running, and I drew my sword and struck his head. Then I came with his she-camel, leading it, and on it were his spoils. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me with the people and said: «Who killed the man?» Ibn al-Akwa‘ said: “I did.” He said: «All his spoils are yours.»
