✧ The spoils and their distribution

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ بِبَيْرُوتَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْسٍ عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأُخْبِرَ أَنَّهُ عَيْنٌ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَتَلَهُ فَلَهُ سَلَبُهُ» قَالَ فَأَدْرَكْتُهُ فَقَتَلْتُهُ فَنَفَّلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَلَبَهُ

✧ A man stood up near the Prophet ﷺ and was reported to be a spy for the polytheists. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: «Whoever kills him, his spoils belong to him.» I caught up with him and killed him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me his spoils as extra.
