✧ I undertook a blood-money responsibility for my people. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have undertaken a blood-money responsibility for my people, so help me with it.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Rather, we will bear it for you.' He said, 'It is yours among the charity camels when they come.' Then he said, 'O Qabisa b. Mukhariq, begging is not lawful except for one of three: a man who undertakes a blood-money responsibility for his people seeking reconciliation, and he begs until he reaches his aim, then he stops; a man who is stricken by poverty and three men of sound judgment from his people testify for him, and when he obtains what suffices or a covering, he stops; and a man who is stricken by a calamity and begs until he obtains what suffices or a covering, then he stops. Anything else, O Qabisa, of begging is unlawful earnings.' He said it three times.
