✧ The spoils and their distribution

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ قَالَ

قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَقْبِيَةً وَلَمْ يُعْطِ مَخْرَمَةَ شَيْئًا فَقَالَ مَخْرَمَةُ يَا بُنَيَّ انْطَلِقْ بِنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَانْطَلَقْتُ مَعَهُ قَالَ ادْخُلْ فَادْعُهُ لِي قَالَ فَدَعَوْتُهُ لَهُ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِ قَبَاءٌ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ «قَدْ خَبَّأْتُ هَذَا لَكَ» قَالَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ ﷺ «رَضِيَ مَخْرَمَةُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided some cloaks and did not give Makhramah anything. Makhramah said: 'O my son, take me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' So I went with him. He said: 'Enter and call him for me.' He said: 'So I called him for him, and he came out to him wearing one of those cloaks as an outer garment, and said: "I have kept this for you."' He said: 'He looked at it, and the Prophet ﷺ said: "Makhramah is pleased."'
