أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانِ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ
خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ يَتَنَاضَلُونَ بِالسُّوقِ فَقَالَ «ارْمُوا بَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَإِنَّ أَبَاكُمْ كَانَ رَامِيًا وَأَنَا مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ لِأَحَدِ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ» فَأَمْسَكُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكُمُ ارْمُوا» قَالُوا كَيْفَ نَرْمِي وَأَنْتَ مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ؟ قَالَ «ارْمُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ كُلُّكُمْ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out upon a group from Aslam shooting arrows in the market. He said, 'Shoot, Banī Ismāʿīl, for your father was an archer, and I am with Banū so-and-so'—one of the two groups. They lowered their hands. He said, 'What is wrong with you? Shoot.' They said, 'How can we shoot when you are with Banū so-and-so?' He said, 'Shoot, and I am with all of you.'
