✧ The Virtue of Testimony

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ رَأَى أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ رُؤْيَا؟ » فَسَأَلْنَا يَوْمًا ثُمَّ قَالَ «أُرِيتُ اللَّيْلَةَ رَجُلَيْنِ أَتَيَانِي فَأَخَذَا بِيَدِي فَصَعِدَا بِي فِي الشَّجَرَةِ فَأَدْخَلَانِي دَارًا لَمْ أَرَ قَطُّ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهَا فَقَالَ أَمَا هَذِهِ الدَّارُ فَدَارُ الشُّهَدَاءِ»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the morning prayer, he would turn his face toward us and say, 'Did any of you see a dream last night?' One day he asked us and then said, 'Last night I was shown two men who came to me, took me by the hand, and ascended with me into a tree. They brought me into a house the like of which I have never seen more beautiful. They said, "As for this house, it is the house of the martyrs."'
