✧ I met Abu Dharr at al-Rabadhah while he had brought his riding camels to water, so he gave them to drink, then he brought them back. He had hung a water skin on the neck of one of his riding camels to drink from it and to give his companions drink. That is a trait from the traits of the Arabs. I said: O Abu Dharr, what is your wealth? He said: My wealth is my deeds. I said: O Abu Dharr, what did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever spends a pair from his wealth, the gatekeepers of Paradise hasten to him." I said: O Abu Dharr, what are these two pairs? He said: If they are men, then two men; if they are horses, then two horses; if they are camels, then two camels, until he enumerated all types of wealth. I said: Tell me more, O Abu Dharr. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There are no two Muslims for whom three children die but that Allah admits them into Paradise by His abundant mercy."
