✧ Then I met Suhayl and said to him, "What do you think about a hadith that 'Amr used to narrate from al-Qa'qa' from your father—did you hear it from your father?" He said, "I heard it from the one whom my father heard it from. A friend of my father's used to come from Syria, called 'Ata' b. Yazid al-Laythi. I heard him narrate that from Tamim al-Dari, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: 'Truly the religion is sincere advice. Truly the religion is sincere advice. Truly the religion is sincere advice.' They said, 'To whom, O Messenger?' He said, 'To Allah, His Book, His Messenger, the imams of the Muslims, and the common people.'"
