أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
أُقِيمَتْ صَلَاةُ الْعِشَاءِ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي إِلَيْكَ حَاجَةً فَقَامَ بِنَاحِيَةٍ حَتَّى نَعَسَ الْقَوْمُ أَوْ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ «ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى فَصَلُّوا وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَنَّهُمْ تَوَضَّؤُوا»

✧ The ʿishāʾ prayer was announced, and a man stood before the Prophet ﷺ and said: I have a need from you. He stood aside with him until the people dozed, or some of the people dozed. “Then he stood and prayed, and they prayed, and he did not mention that they performed ablution anew.”
