أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي قَرَابَةً أَصِلُهُمْ وَيَقْطَعُونِي وَأُحْسِنُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَيُسِيئُونَ إِلَيَّ وَأَحْلُمُ عَنْهُمْ وَيَجْهَلُونَ عَلَيَّ فقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَئِنْ كَانَ كَمَا تَقُولُ لَكَأَنَّمَا تُسِفُّهُمُ الْمَلَّ وَلَا يَزَالُ مَعَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ ظُهَيْرٌ مَا دُمْتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ»

✧ A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have relatives whom I maintain ties with, but they cut me off; I treat them well, but they mistreat me; I forbear with them, but they act ignorantly toward me.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “If you are as you say, then it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and a supporter from Allah will remain with you as long as you continue in that.”
