قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ اخْتَلَفُوا يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي التَّابُوتِ فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ التَّابُوهُ وَقَالَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ الْعَاصِ التَّابُوتُ فَرُفِعَ اخْتِلَافُهُمْ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ

«اكْتُبُوهُ التَّابُوتُ فَإِنَّهُ لِسَانُ قُرَيْشٍ»

✧ 'Write it as al-tabut, for it is the tongue of Quraysh.'
