أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
«إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَأَلَّفَهُمْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ «أَفِيكُمْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ؟ » قَالُوا ابْنُ أُخْتٍ لَنَا قَالَ «ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ»

✧ «Indeed Quraysh are recent in their Jahiliyya, so I wanted to win their hearts.» Then he said to them: «Is there anyone among you from other than yourselves?» They said: A son of our sister. He said: «The son of a people's sister is one of them.»
