أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

«كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْؤُولٌ فَالْأَمِيرُ رَاعٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَهُوَ مَسْؤُولٌ وَالرَّجُلُ رَاعٍ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ وَهُوَ مَسْؤُولٌ وَالْمَرْأَةُ رَاعِيَةٌ عَلَى بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا وَهِيَ مَسْؤُولَةٌ وَالْعَبْدُ رَاعٍ عَلَى مَالِ سَيِّدِهِ وَهُوَ مَسْؤُولٌ أَلَا فَكُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْؤُولٌ»

Translation

✧ «Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible. The ruler is a shepherd over the people and is responsible. A man is a shepherd over his household and is responsible. A woman is a shepherd over her husband's house and is responsible. A slave is a shepherd over his master's property and is responsible. Indeed, each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible.»
