✧ The emancipation of the married slave before his wife

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الشَّرْقِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الذُّهْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَهَا غُلَامٌ وَجَارِيَةٌ زَوْجٌ فَأَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَعْتِقَهُمَا فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنْ أَعْتَقْتِيهِمَا فَابْدَئِي بِالْغُلَامِ قَبْلَ الْجَارِيَةِ»

✧ She had a male slave and a female slave who were married. She wanted to free them, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: 'If you free them, begin with the male slave before the female slave.'
