✧ The right of parents

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ الْحَافِظُ السَّرَّادُ بِتُسْتُرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ الْبَحْرَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَسُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُبَايِعَكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ وَتَرَكْتُ أَبَوَيَّ يَبْكِيَانِ فقَالَ «ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمَا فَأَضْحِكْهُمَا كَمَا أَبْكَيْتَهُمَا»

✧ A man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I want to pledge allegiance to you for emigration, but I have left my parents weeping." He said, "Return to them and make them laugh as you made them weep."
