كَانَتْ تُصَلِّي خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ امْرَأَةٌ حَسْنَاءُ مِنْ أَحْسَنِ النَّاسِ فَكَانَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ يَتَقَدَّمُ فِي الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ لِأَنْ لَا يَرَاهَا وَيَسْتَأْخِرُ بَعْضُهُمْ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِي الصَّفِّ الْمُؤَخَّرِ فَكَانَ إِذَا رَكَعَ نَظَرَ مِنْ تَحْتِ إِبْطِهِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِي شَأْنِهَا {وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ}

✧ A beautiful woman, one of the most beautiful of people, used to pray behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Some of the people would come forward to the first row so as not to see her, and some would lag behind until they were in the last row; and when he bowed, he would look from under his armpit. So Allah revealed concerning her: “And We know those among you who come forward, and We know those who lag behind.” [Al-Hijr:24]
