أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ
أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا حَاضِرِينَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْمَدِينَةِ «يَبْعَثُ بِالْهَدْيِ فَمَنْ شَاءَ مِنَّا أَخَّرَ وَمَنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ»

✧ They were present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Madinah. He would send the sacrificial animal, and whoever of us wished would delay, and whoever wished would leave it.
