✧ I went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. All the people entered ihram except me. We saw a wild donkey, so I saddled and bridled [my horse], then mounted, took the spear, and forgot the whip. I asked them to hand it to me, but they refused. So I dismounted, took my whip, then struck the donkey and hamstrung it. Some of the people ate from it and some left it. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, he said, “Those who ate were correct. Do you have any of it with you?” He said: We said, “Yes, here is a leg.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate from it.
