✧ Abu Qatada belonged to a group of prohibited people while he himself was permissible. He offered his companions a wild donkey but they did not give permission to slaughter it until they had seen it. While he was sitting, he secretly took a whip from one of them and struck the animal with it until he killed it. Then he brought it to them and they ate from it and carried some with them. They went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about it. He said, "Did anyone of you indicate to it?" They said, "No." He said, "Then eat it."
