أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُلَائِيُّ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ وَمَعَنَا النِّسَاءُ وَالذَّرَارِيُّ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ طُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
«مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيَحِلَّ» فَقُلْنَا أَيُّ الْحِلِّ؟ فَقَالَ «الْحِلُّ كُلُّهُ» فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ التَّرْوِيَةِ أَهْلَلْنَا بِالْحَجِّ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اشْتَرِكُوا فِي الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ كُلُّ سَبْعَةٍ فِي بَدَنَةٍ» قَالَ فَجَاءَ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ عُمْرَتَنَا هَذِهِ لِعَامِنَا هَذَا أَمْ لِلْأَبَدِ؟ فَقَالَ ﷺ «لَا بَلْ لِلْأَبَدِ» فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بَيِّنْ لَنَا دِينَنَا كَأَنَّمَا خُلِقْنَا الْآنَ أَرَأَيْتَ الْعَمَلَ الَّذِي نَعْمَلُ بِهِ أَفِيمَا جَفَّتْ بِهِ الْأَقْلَامُ وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ أَمْ مِمَّا نَسْتَقْبِلُ؟ فَقَالَ ﷺ «لَا بَلْ فِيمَا جَفَّتْ بِهِ الْأَقْلَامُ وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ» قُلْتُ فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ»

- Lanā Rasūl Allāh ﷺ
✧ “Whoever does not have with him a sacrificial animal (hady), let him come out of ihram.” We said: What kind of coming out of ihram? He said: “Complete coming out of ihram.” When it was the Day of Tarwiyah, we entered ihram for Hajj. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: “Share in the camels and the cows; every seven (people) in one camel.” He said: Then Suraqah b. Malik b. Ju'shum came and said: O Messenger of Allah, do you think this Umrah of ours is for this year of ours or forever? He ﷺ said: “No, rather forever.” He said: O Messenger of Allah, explain to us our religion as if we were created just now. Do you think the deeds we perform, are they in what the pens have dried upon and the decrees have run with, or in what we face in the future? He ﷺ said: “No, rather in what the pens have dried upon and the decrees have run with.” I said: Then what is the point of deeds? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Work, for everyone is facilitated (to that for which he was created).”
