✧ al-Itikaf and Laylat al-Qadr

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ

خَرَجَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِيُخْبِرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَى رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ «خَرَجْتُ لِأُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَى فُلَانٌ وَفُلَانٌ فَرُفِعَتْ وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا لَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي التَّاسِعَةِ وَالسَّابِعَةِ وَالْخَامِسَةِ»

✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ came out to inform us about Laylat al-Qadr, but two Muslim men were arguing. He said, "I came out to inform you about Laylat al-Qadr, but so-and-so and so-and-so argued, and it was taken away. Perhaps that is better for you, so seek it in the ninth, the seventh, and the fifth."
