✧ The Virtue of Ramadan

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ مُرَّةَ الْجُهَنِيَّ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ شَهِدْتُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَصَلَّيْتُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ وَأَدَّيْتُ الزَّكَاةَ وَصُمْتُ رَمَضَانَ وَقُمْتُهُ فَمِمَّنْ أَنَا؟ قَالَ «مِنَ الصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ»

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, tell me: if I testify that there is no god but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah, perform the five prayers, give zakat, fast Ramadan, and stand in prayer during it, then among whom am I?' He said, 'Among the truthful and the martyrs.'
