✧ Abu Talhah was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madinah, and the most beloved of his properties to him was Bayruha', which faced the mosque. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to enter it and drink from its sweet water. Anas said: When this verse was revealed: {You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love}, Abu Talhah stood before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Allah says in His Book: {You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love}. The most beloved of my properties to me is Bayruha', so it is charity for Allah. I hope for its righteousness and its treasure with Allah. Place it, O Messenger of Allah, wherever you wish." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Excellent! That is profitable wealth. Excellent! That is profitable wealth. I have heard what you said about it, and I think you should make it for the nearest relatives." Abu Talhah said, "I will do so, O Messenger of Allah." So Abu Talhah divided it among his relatives and his paternal cousins.
