أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى الْفُضَيْلِ عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ أَنَّ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ حَدَّثَهُ

أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَى حِينَ حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ «إِذَا انْطَلَقْتُمْ بِجِنَازَتِي فَأَسْرِعُوا الْمَشْيَ وَلَا تُتْبِعُونِي بِجَمْرٍ وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا عَلَى لَحْدِي شَيْئًا يَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ التُّرَابِ وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا عَلَى قَبْرِي بِنَاءً وَأُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ حَالِقَةٍ أَوْ سَالِقَةٍ أَوْ خَارِقَةٍ» قَالُوا سَمِعْتَ فِيهِ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

Translation

✧ When Abu Musa was on his deathbed, he said, 'When you carry my bier, walk quickly, and do not follow me with burning coals, and do not place anything over my grave that would come between me and the earth, and do not build a structure over my grave. I call you to witness that I am free of every woman who shaves her head, wails loudly, or tears her clothes.' They said, 'Did you hear something about this?' He said, 'Yes, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'
