✧ When the deceased is placed in his grave, he hears the sound of their sandals as they turn away. If he is a believer, prayer is at his head, fasting is on his right, zakah is on his left, and deeds of goodness—charity, maintaining ties, kindness, and benevolence to people—are at his feet. He is approached from his head, and prayer says: 'There is no entrance from my side.' Then he is approached from his right, and fasting says: 'There is no entrance from my side.' Then from his left, and zakah says: 'There is no entrance from my side.' Then from his feet, and the deeds of goodness—charity, maintaining ties, kindness, and benevolence to people—say: 'There is no entrance from my side.' Then it is said to him: 'Sit up,' and he sits up. The sun is shown to him as if near setting. It is said to him: 'What do you say about this man who was among you? What do you say about him, and what testimony do you give against him?' He says: 'Leave me so that I may pray.' They say: 'You will do so.'
