✧ A chapter on burial

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ بِبُسْتَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«يَتْبَعُ الْمَيِّتَ ثَلَاثَةٌ فَيَرْجِعُ اثْنَانِ وَيَبْقَى وَاحِدٌ يَتْبَعُهُ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَعَمَلُهُ فَيَرْجِعُ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَيَبْقَى عَمَلُهُ»

Translation

  4. Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah
  5. ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Bakr
  6. Anas b. Mālik
  7. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ Three things follow the deceased: two return, and one remains with him. His family, his wealth, and his deeds follow him; his family and wealth return, and his deeds remain.
