✧ The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and that was on the day in which Ibrāhīm died. The people said, 'The sun has only eclipsed because of the death of Ibrāhīm.' The Prophet of Allah ﷺ stood and prayed with the people six bowings and four prostrations. He said the takbir, then recited, and prolonged the recitation. Then he bowed for about as long as he had stood. Then he raised his head and recited, but for a shorter time than the first recitation. Then he bowed for about as long as his recitation. Then he raised his head and recited for a shorter time than the second recitation. Then he bowed for about as long as his recitation. Then he raised his head and prostrated twice. Then he stood and prayed three bowings before prostrating, in which each bowing was preceded by a standing, and the earlier standing was longer than the later one, except that his bowing was about as long as his standing. Then he moved back in his prayer, and the rows moved back with him. Then he moved forward, and the rows moved forward with him. Then he completed the prayer, and the sun had brightened. Then he said, 'O people, the sun and the moon are two signs among Allah's signs. They do not eclipse because of the death of any human. When you see any of that, pray until it clears.'
