✧ We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when the sun eclipsed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up alarmed, dragging his garment until he entered the mosque and prayed two rak‘ahs. He continued praying them until the sun cleared. That was at the death of Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The people said, “The sun eclipsed only because of Ibrahim’s death.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “O people, the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of anyone’s death. So when you see that, supplicate until what is upon you is removed.”
