قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبِ الْأَحْبَارِ وَمَا حَدَّثَتْهُ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَالَ
كَعْبٌ وَذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِهَا وَلَا تَضِنَّنَ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَكَيْفَ تَكُونُ آخِرَ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي» وَتِلْكَ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَلَّى فِيهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ جَلَسَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَهَا» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ بَلَى قَالَ فَهُوَ ذَاكَ
Translation
Chain of narrators
✧ Ka'b said, “That is one day in every year.” Abdullah b. Salam said, “Ka'b lied.” I said, “Then he recited the Torah and said, ‘Rather it is in every Friday.’” Abdullah b. Salam said, “Ka'b spoke the truth.” Then Abdullah b. Salam said, “I know which hour it is.” He said: Then Abu Hurayrah said, “I said to him, ‘So tell me of it, and do not withhold it from me.’” Abdullah b. Salam said, “It is the last hour of Friday.” Abu Hurayrah said, “How can it be the last hour of Friday when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘No Muslim servant comes upon it while praying’—and that is an hour in which one does not pray?” Abdullah b. Salam said, “Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not say, ‘Whoever sits waiting for the prayer is in prayer until he prays it’?” Abu Hurayrah said, “Yes.” He said, “That is it.”
