✧ Prostration of Recitation

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَالْأَشَجُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنِ الْعَوَّامِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِابْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ سَجْدَةُ ص مِنْ أَيْنَ أَخَذْتَهَا؟ قَالَ فَتَلَا عَلَيَّ {وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ دَاوُدُ وَسُلَيْمَانُ وَأَيُّوبُ} حَتَّى بَلَغَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللَّهُ فَبِهُدَاهُمِ اقْتَدِهْ}

✧ I said to Ibn Abbas, “The prostration of Sad—from where did you take it?” He said, “Then he recited to me, ‘And of his descendants, David and Solomon and Job’ until he reached His saying, ‘Those are they whom Allah has guided, so follow their guidance.’”
