أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّاقِدُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ سُحَيْمٌ حَرَّانِيٌّ ثَبْتٌ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ فُلَانًا يُصَلِّي اللَّيْلَ كُلَّهُ فَإِذَا أَصْبَحَ سَرَقَ قَالَ «سَيَنْهَاهُ مَا تَقُولُ»

✧ It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so prays through the night, but when morning comes he steals.” He said, “What you mention (i.e., his prayer) will soon stop him.”
