أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْمَقَابِرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ «يُصَلِّي أَحَدُكُمْ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى حَتَّى إِذَا خَشِيَ أَنْ يُصْبِحَ سَجَدَ سَجْدَةً تُوتِرُ لَهُ مَا قَدْ صَلَّى»

✧ He heard Ibn Umar say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the night prayer, and he replied, "One of you should pray two units, two units, until he fears the dawn, then he should perform a prostration that prolongs what he has prayed."
