أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْبُخَارِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْأَذْرَمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ عَمَّا يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ كَآخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْكَلْبُ الْأَسْوَدُ قُلْتُ مَا بَالُ الْأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْأَصْفَرِ مِنَ الْأَبْيَضِ؟ قَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي فَقَالَ «الْكَلْبُ الْأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ»

✧ I asked Abu Dharr about what interrupts the prayer. He said: If there is not in front of you something like the back of a saddle, the woman, the donkey, and the black dog. I said: What about the black one as opposed to the yellow and the white? He said: O son of my brother, I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ just as you asked me, and he said, “The black dog is a devil.”
