أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْقَزَّازُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ بَعْدَمَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الصَّفَّ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ «بِأَيَّتِهِمَا اعْتَدَدْتَ أَوْ بِأَيَّتِهِمَا احْتَسَبْتَ؟ الَّتِي صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا أَوِ الَّتِي صَلَّيْتَ وَحْدَكَ؟ »

✧ A man entered the mosque after the prayer had been commenced, and the Prophet ﷺ was praying. The man prayed two rakʿahs, then joined the row. When the Prophet ﷺ finished, he said: "By which of them have you counted, or by which of them have you sought reward? The one you prayed with us, or the one you prayed alone?"
