✧ The Prophet ﷺ was thrown from a horse of his and fell onto a palm stump, dislocating his foot. We entered upon him to visit him while he was praying in a room of Aisha's, seated. We prayed along with his prayer while we were standing. Then we entered upon him another time while he was praying seated, and we prayed along with his prayer while standing. He gestured to us to sit down. When he finished praying, he said: “The imam is only appointed to be followed. So if he prays standing, then pray standing; and if he prays seated, then pray seated. Do not stand while he is seated, as the Persians do with their leaders.”
