✧ The obligatory congregational prayer and the excuses that allow skipping it

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا النَّجِيبِ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ

ذِكْرُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الثُّومُ وَالْبَصَلُ وَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَأَشَدُّ ذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ الثُّومُ أَفَنُحَرِّمُهُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كُلُوهُ وَمَنْ أَكَلَهُ مِنْكُمْ فَلَا يَقْرَبْ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدَ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ رِيحُهُ»

✧ Garlic and onions were mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and it was said, 'O Messenger of Allah, the strongest of all that is garlic. Shall we deem it forbidden?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Eat it, but whoever of you eats it should not come near this mosque until its odor goes away.'
