أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

«أَنَّ عَبَّادَ بْنَ بِشْرٍ وَأُسَيْدَ بْنَ حُضَيْرٍ خَرَجَا مِنْ عِنْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي لَيْلَةٍ ظَلْمَاءَ حِنْدِسٍ فَكَانَ مَعَ كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَصًا فَأَضَاءَتْ عَصَا أَحَدِهِمَا كَأَشَدِّ شَيْءٍ فَلَمَّا تَفَرَّقَا أَضَاءَتْ عَصَا كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا»

Translation

  2. Hudbah b. Khālid
  3. Ḥammād b. Salamah
  4. Thābit
  5. Anas b. Mālik

✧ "Abbad b. Bishr and Usayd b. Hudayr left the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a dark, pitch-black night, each of them having a staff. The staff of one of them lit up as brightly as possible, and when they parted, the staff of each of them lit up."
