✧ Narrated Abu Mas'ud: A man came and sat in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we know how to send greetings upon you, but how should we pray for you when we are already praying in our own prayers? Allah sends His blessings upon you, so how should we send blessings upon you?" The Prophet ﷺ remained silent until we wished that the man had not asked him. Then he said, "When you pray, say: 'O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad, the Prophet who cannot read or write, and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim, and upon the family of Ibrahim. And bless Muhammad, the Prophet who cannot read or write, and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Verily, You are full of praise and majesty.'"
