✧ The Prophet ﷺ set out toward Baqi' al-Gharqad, and I set out behind him. He said, "O Abu Dharr." I said, "At your service, then at your service, and I am your ransom." He said, "Those who have much wealth are the ones with little on the Day of Resurrection, except one who says of his wealth, 'Thus and thus,' to his right and to his left"—he said it three times. Then Uhud appeared before us, and he said, "O Abu Dharr, it would not please me that the family of Muhammad had gold and a dinar or mithqal remained with them overnight." I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." Then a valley appeared before us, and the Prophet ﷺ went into its interior and descended into it, while I sat at its edge. I thought he had some need, and he was slow in returning to me, and my thoughts became uneasy. Then I heard a whispered conversation. He said, "That is Jibril informing me for my community: whoever of them bears witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah will enter Paradise." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals."
