✧ I entered with 'Alqamah upon Ibn Mas'ud. He said to us, 'Have these people prayed?' We said, 'No.' He said, 'Then stand and pray.' We went to stand behind him, and he placed one of us on his right and the other on his left. He prayed without adhan or iqamah. When he bowed, he interlaced his fingers in prayer and placed them between his knees.' When he finished, he said, 'Thus I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying.' And he said, 'O people, there will be rulers over you who kill the prayer, delaying it until the time of the dead. Whoever of you lives to see that, let him pray the prayer at its proper time, and let him make his prayer with them supererogatory.'
