✧ A Jew said to Umar: If we, the Jewish people, knew when this verse was revealed, we would have taken it as a festival: {Today I have perfected for you your religion}. And if we knew the day on which it was revealed, we would have taken it as a festival. Umar ؓ said: 'I know the day on which it was revealed and the night in which it was revealed: the day of Friday, while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Arafat.'
