✧ When he began the obligatory prayer he would say: “I have turned my face to the One who created the heavens and the earth, as a ḥanīf, and I am not of the polytheists. My prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death belong to Allah, Lord of the worlds, who has no partner. With that I have been commanded, and I am of the Muslims. O Allah, to You belongs praise, there is no god but You. Glory be to You and praise. You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself and I confess my sin, so forgive all my sins. None forgives sins but You. Guide me to the best of character; none guides to it but You, and turn away from me its evil; none turns away its evil but You. Here I am, at Your service. Good is in Your hands, and the guided one is the one You guide. I am through You and to You. Blessed and exalted are You. I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You.”
