Prohibited Times for Prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَّى قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ عِنْدَ الثَّالِثَةِ «لِمَنْ شَاءَ» خَافَ أَنْ يَحْسِبَهَا النَّاسُ سُنَّةً

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed two rak'ahs before Maghrib, then said at the third, 'For whoever wishes,' fearing that people would consider it a sunnah.
