Prohibited Times for Prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْفَرَّاءُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ

ثَلَاثُ سَاعَاتٍ كَانَ «يَنْهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ فِيهِنَّ أَوْ نَقْبُرَ فِيهِنَّ مَوْتَانَا حِينَ تَطْلُعُ الشَّمْسُ بَازِغَةً حَتَّى تَرْتَفِعَ وَحِينَ يَقُومُ قَائِمُ الظَّهِيرَةِ حَتَّى تَمِيلَ الشَّمْسُ وَحِينَ تَصَوَّبُ الشَّمْسُ لِغُرُوبِهَا»

Translation

  2. Saʿd b. Yazīd al-Farrāʾ Abū al-Ḥasan
  3. Mūsá b. ʿAlī b. Rabāḥ
  4. ʿUqbah b. ʿĀmir

✧ There are three times in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us to pray and to bury our dead: when the sun begins to rise until it is high; when the sun is at its zenith until it declines; and when the sun declines for setting."
