أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ خَبَّرَتْنِي أُمِّي أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ

إِنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْحَيْضِ كَيْفَ تَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ؟ قَالَ «تَأْخُذِي فِرْصَةً مُمَسَّكَةً فَتَتَوَضَّئِينَ بِهَا» قَالَتْ كَيْفَ أَتَوَضَّأُ بِهَا؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَوَضَّئِينَ بِهَا» قَالَتْ كَيْفَ أَتَوَضَّأُ بِهَا؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَوَضَّئِينَ بِهَا» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَعَرَفْتُ الَّذِي يُرِيدُ فَجَبَذْتُهَا إِلَيَّ فَعَلَّمْتُهَا

✧ A woman asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about menstruation: how should she bathe from it? He said: "Take a piece of cloth perfumed with musk and perform wudu' with it." She said: How do I perform wudu' with it? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Perform wudu' with it." She said: How do I perform wudu' with it? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Perform wudu' with it." A'ishah said: I knew what he meant, so I pulled her to me and taught her.
