Sahih Ibn Hibban 107

✧ The admonition to prevent reliance on the writings of a person without preserving them

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَةَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ «يَرْحَمُهُ اللَّهُ لَقَدْ أَذْكَرَنِي آيَةً كُنْتُ أُنْسِيتُهَا»
