أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

«مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يُمْسِي أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ لَمْ تَضُرَّهُ حَيَّةٌ إِلَى الصَّبَاحِ» قَالَ وَكَانَ إِذَا لُدِغَ إِنْسَانٌ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ قَالَ أَمَا قَالَ الْكَلِمَاتِ؟!

✧ 'Whoever says when evening comes: Aʿūdhu bi-kalimāti llāhi t-tāmmāti min sharri mā khalaq (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created) three times, no snake will harm him until morning.' He said: When one of his family was stung, he would say: Did he not say the words?!
