Additional text: Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī was at al-Dār in Aṣbahān, and at that time they did not have much fear, but he wished to teach them their religion and the Sunnah of their Prophet [2]. So he made them two rows: one group with weapons facing their enemy, and a group behind it. He prayed one rakʿah with those nearest to him, then they moved back on their heels until they stood in the place of the others, passing through them, until they stood behind him. He prayed another rakʿah with them, then he gave the salām. Then those who were nearest to him and the others stood and each prayed one rakʿah, and they gave the salām, some of them to others. So the imam completed two rakʿahs in congregation, and the people one rakʿah each.
