Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq saw a bird perched on a tree, and he said: "Blessed are you, O bird! By Allah, I wish I were like you, alighting on the trees, eating of the fruit, then flying off, with no reckoning and no punishment upon you! By Allah, I wish I were a tree beside the road, and a camel passed by me, took me, put me in its mouth, chewed me, then swallowed me, then expelled me as dung, and I had not been a human being."
