I asked al-Shaʿbī [1] and said: "We raid the land of Armenia, a Christian land. What is your view on their slaughtered animals and their food?" He said: "When we raided a land, we would ask about its people. If they said: Jews or Christians, we would eat from their slaughtered animals and their food, and we would cook in their vessels."
